How to use CDpatcher temporarily

98 posts in this topic

No the # means comment, so you adding that wont do anything. In windows 10 and well...probably the ones still around, you need to right click notepad and "run as administrator". Then simply add the lines

51.255.91.123 vip.codedeception.com
51.255.91.123 pub.codedeception.com

anywhere there is a blank line, the bottom of file is fine. I havent had much luck since HB is known to wipe the hosts file to blank so if it works for you then aweasome, if not you may notice it goes blank, HB may be the issue.

My tests show that this is not in fact working, but there have been reports that it has, I would just wait.

Also tried to make my Host file read only, so it won't get edited automatically. Still doesn't work, back to the waiting game in Discord. Join me! ~ iTackleKittens

The fix seems to have prevented HB from modifying the hosts file, which was probably the point, but I am still unable to reach the authentication servers. I can ping them both and resolve the appropriate IP address, but the HB client (both freshly downloaded and my current installation) both fail to hit the server:

What would be the necessary information for the static route? My guesses:

  • Network - The IP addresses specified above
  • Subnet mask - 255.255.255.0
  • Gateway - My router

if u do like this - all traffic from your PC was going to the IP addresses specified above

That's what I assumed tbh. I can't seem to find a way of forcing a specific name resolution at the router level (Fritzbox 7490).

Not all routers have the ability to do it. Mine cannot do it aswell.
