Risks with honorbuddy

11 posts in this topic

Hi, is there any chance what so ever that I will get in legal trouble and possibly get sued for using honorbuddy? I was thinking that blizzard may be using some excuse that I am lowering the value of their game and set me up with a 6 million dollar lawsuit to prove a point.

I know there's a risk that my account will get banned, but I don't care about that. Is that all I have to worry about?

Thanks.

No botter has ever been sued ever! Only the bot companies. The most you can worry about is being banned...

I can't tell if trolling or not.

Haha yeah, I know it seems ridiculous, I am just extremely paranoid. And no, I am not trolling. Was thinking it may be the same as with downloading copyrighted material: once they go after a user instead of the distributers, they hit him hard to prove a point. Cause they do have legal grounds for it, no? I am lowering the value of their game by not making it enjoyable for other players when for example bg-botting.

The only thing they're legally obligated to do is ban the said account involved. You have nothing to worry about when it comes to getting sued unless you start dabbling in packets and duping ect.

Legally obligated is one thing, but do they have any grounds for suing when using a bot for questing?

There is no point in suing the individual; the government made a point out of a few random people to scare those that are too paranoid.

To quote a movie chain: "There is no Fate but what you make."

The same applies to HB; if you are using it, you run the chance of getting banned. But to think for one second that you might be the target of a "martyr" situation.... it would never happen because Blizz doesnt care about you, you have no money, or definetely not enough to even be remotely interesting to them. You alone do not make a difference; thats why they are currently suing HB.

Blizzard does not have the time or resources to bother trying to sue everyone who bots.

They will ban your account, you will buy a new account, giving them money and repeat the cycle.

Its a business.
