  1. This is a very generous offer of your time, and I commend you for it. I am still new into this area of service (mostly a level 3 guy). When you say you're going to "crack" something, to me that represents time. Time and effort and lots of both. Good on you sir. To that effect, emails have been my main interest most recently. Emails and email clients. Any service really, most (if not all) of them are free these days, with minimal download. AOL, GMAIL, YAHOO, whateverthahell Hotmail turned into... MSN? There seem to be several, or very few "services" that apparently "service" a whole lot of the DNS. Communication is what I do, and emails are how I get it done. The more the merrier as they always say, and I'm tired of manually spending time and energy signing the pages of information they want just to give me 1GB or whatever it is for an IMAP4. There's probably a program or an application that will do "anonymous" stuff with emails, but I just want the convenience of doing it myself. If you happen to come across any email accounts on popular servers that I don't have to sign for in blood (sorry, mailinator doesn't pass), you know, send something my way. Otherwise, any way to collect these things without giving the future maiden name of my first female child, well, that'd be very cool too. I'm sure I'll pick it up somewhere if this stuff is around. 2. I'm sure because I thought of it, then somebody has done it, or has also thought of it and would be willing to help me with the hard bits. Mobile phone numbers. I can get pretty much anything from the old PBX to work with modern email cloud servers (think AOL, GMAIL, YAHOO, etc.) but I cannot, I mean can not anywhere, find a mobile number that will go through the first layer to authenticate correctly. I'm doing my searches right now, but I came across this forum first and I know I've found cool stuff in here before (Zygor... Honorbuddy... Firehawk). So you guys seem to be the sort of guys that know more than me. Coders, application users, security professionals, basically all of those jobs that I don't have (I'm a people person dammit!). If this was a BBS I'd be searching through the "Phreak" categories, just because that's where I'd find everything "phone". But I don't think anyone can be quite that blatant these days. Even if they were that blatant I probably wouldn't want to deal with them. I digress... I have an idea for coding a piece of software. For this software to work it will have to use modern IMAP4 security. Part of that security will be a CHAP to determine valid mobile phone numbers. For comparison reasons, a "test" number would be needed that would always validate, would not be proprietary (to allow use between 3rd party "clients"), and would preferably have no ties to any modern generation of mobile technology. I'm sure I can be contacted by anyone who has any more information than I do, or is simply interested in similar topics. Additionally, I can be contacted by any moderators or administrators that feel that this was posted in the wrong section. I wasn't sure if it should be in the coder section where coders would be more likely to see it, or if it would be in "releases" where users would be more likely to see it (and thus point out if the program already exists in common usage). I'm still a bit new to the forums (and a bit old for computers), so I hope you'll excuse me. Thanks, Tryptik
